S-a decis deschiderea unei investigații pentru accidentul feroviar produs la data de 06.09.2025, pe raza de activitate a Sucursalei Regionale CF Galați, , între halta de mișcare Jirlău și stația CFR Făurei, la km 03 + 721, în circulația trenului de marfă nr.70490 706 (aparținând operatorului de transport feroviar SNTFM „CFR Marfă” SA), prin deraierea de ambele osii ale primului boghiu al vagonului de marfă nr.31539335637-5, al 8-lea vagon din compunerea trenului.
